Public Speaking & Vocabulary
At Singh's Academy, we believe that effective communication is the cornerstone of success in academics and beyond. That's why, in addition to our core curriculum, we place a strong emphasis on vocabulary building and public speaking skills across all our classes. Each day, students are introduced to advanced words, phrases, and language techniques that not only enhance their linguistic prowess but also foster critical thinking and expression. This goes beyond mere memorization, as we actively engage students in extempore speeches, debates, and group discussions. By providing a safe and supportive environment for students to experiment with words and articulate their thoughts, we help them develop confidence, eloquence, and a love for the language. These communication skills not only aid in exam preparation but also equip our students with the abilities to express themselves with clarity and conviction in any setting.
1
Vocabulary Building
This foundational aspect of the course provides students with exposure to complex words, idioms, and phrases, enhancing their verbal expression. The focus is not only on learning new words but understanding their nuanced application, encouraging students to articulate ideas with sophistication and precision.
2
Extempore
Extempore exercises challenge students to think on their feet and deliver impromptu speeches on assigned topics. This helps in sharpening critical thinking skills, fostering spontaneity, and boosting confidence in public speaking. The extempore sessions provide a safe environment for students to practice, learn, and grow as articulate speakers.
3
Debate
The art of debate is cultivated through structured arguments on various subjects, encouraging students to develop logical reasoning, research, and persuasive speaking skills. Debates stimulate intellectual curiosity and help students defend their viewpoints with robust arguments, preparing them for real-world discussions and negotiations.
4
Group Discussion
Group discussions foster teamwork, listening skills, and the ability to articulate opinions coherently within a group setting. Students learn how to interact with peers, build upon others' ideas, and lead discussions. These sessions are instrumental in nurturing collaboration and enhancing communication skills that are vital in both academic and professional life.
